Here’s my guaranteed formula for writing a blog post or article that will keep you in the top of the search results.

Killer Blog Posts and Articles have a word total 1500-3000 words and utilize images, video and back links to grab the search engine attention.

  1. Title
Make sure your title is keyword rich and includes a solution. See my title, 13 Ways…, that’s a great way to be noticed Great titles determine if the post will even be considered.
  1. Keywords
Blog posts, Article Writing, Business Writing Make sure you have 3-9 keywords that are focused on your business or main point
  1. Images
Use a relevant image to depict your post/article and title it with your Keywords in the Alt tag area.   1. Intro Paragraph
Your intro paragraph makes or breaks whether someone reads your blog/article. Make sure you use at your strongest keywords in the intro paragraph. Guaranteed formula for writing a blog post 
  1. Numerical Key Points
This article has 13 points… Search engines love key points
  1. External Links
If you reference another site, make a hyperlink to the site or reference. Google sees ping backs and link backs as social credibility.  I referenced Contently at the bottom of the article. http://contently.com/strategist
  1. Internal Links
Link at least once to your own site or a previous blog post, Google likes relevant links. I like to hyperlink to a similar blog/article to encourage readers to go to another part of my site. See the link above about visiting our blog.
  1. Categories
When you file your blog/article on your site, make sure you assign a category to the post This post is titled Writing, Business Tips, Blogging
  1. Tags
Tags are similar to keywords. Main difference is that tags can have unrelated words to your main business. A tag that is different from the keyword for this post is my name – Lisa Goodwin Bollow, my business name – Accelerated Marketing Services.
10.  Bio/About Write a catchy, short bio that includes ways people can link/find you other than the article. 12.  Keyword Density Total WordsKw/tw * 100 = %38/729*100= 5.21% Keywords (number of keywords used) divided by the total number of words in the article or post, multiplied by 100 will give you the keyword density. Goal is 2-8% of the document.
13.Post/Publish Spell check, edit, review then post Don’t forget to send it to other sites you can post articles or blogs to.
